Tammy Melody Gomez earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Pre-Legal Studies from Goucher College (Maryland), which also honored her with the Alumnae/i Award for Excellence in Public Service (2010). Her literary work has been published widely, in collections such as Women in Nature: An Anthology (Louise Grace Publishing, 2014) and Entre Guadalupe y Malinche: Tejanas in Literature and Art (UT Press, 2016).
Her multimedia successes include: She: Bike/Spoke/Love—an innovative bicycle theater work; “Dear House”—a collaborative installation in a vacant house; DRESS CODES—a poetry installation on Victorian-style dresses; and her one-woman show, “Saliendo Abierta” (Emerging Open), which chronicles Tammy’s experience being trapped in her bedroom closet for 55 hours.
